I’ve appeared on podcasts and YouTube channels to discuss phone usage – why it feels like it’s out of control, why so many interventions just don’t work, and how people can change their habits for good.

If that sounds like a subject your audience can relate to, contact me here.

Let’s talk.

Topics and questions

A few of the things we might discuss:

  • How to stop scrolling without going off the grid

  • What to do when willpower isn’t working

  • Aligning phone use with your values

  • How curated, individualized feeds are making us less tolerant of others

  • Identifying purpose and life goals

Some suggested questions:

  • What advice do you have for listeners who are trying to manage their screentime, but need to use social media for their job?

  • Can you share a simple exercise or reflection from the book that listeners can try right now?

  • You talk about identifying triggers for phone use — what are some common ones, and how can we interrupt them?

  • In your book, you focus a lot on self-awareness and intentionality. Why are those so important?

  • You’ve said that our phones are tools — not villains. Can you explain that perspective?

Bio

I’m a former high school math teacher and mother of two who often thinks about habits, optimization, and what it means to be human. I have an ever increasing curiosity in how small everyday actions affect the sum of who we are, and feel that excessive phone use is breaking down our relationships, accomplishments, and attention spans, and contributing to our increasing feelings of isolation.

I’m also the author of How to Stop Scrolling (coming Fall 2025), a book on how to design your environment, schedule, and habits to bring your phone usage into alignment with the way you want to live.
